Give An Eternal Gift!

How Can You Participate?

You have the opportunity to "Give an Eternal Gift", a gift that keeps giving in the name of the Lord. By contributing to the Christian Education Trust you are helping to ensure that the Christ-centered values that made this country great are passed from our generation to the next. More importantly, you are enabling generations of young people to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, whether it be on the mission field, in the workplace or in the home.

First Pray

Pray that God will increase the size of the Christian Education Trust mightily. Our goal is to add millions to the fund in the next few years. Also, pray that God will show you a way to support this foundation through a gift or by talking to your friends and relatives about the Christian Education Trust.

Give

The lifeblood of the Christian Education Trust (CET) is the loyal and faithful donor who is motivated by giving to the cause of Christian education. Over the years, the many generous gifts of such donors have served to build an endowment fund that today is utilized to meet special needs in the financial support of Upper Bucks Christian School.  The CET is designed to permit investment income to be used - but never the gift or the principal. Thus, your gift endows for the future and builds an increasing income stream.

The simplest and most common method of charitable giving is current gifts of cash or property. Such contributions can be a single check or in the form of planned or systematic contributions.

Some donors will consider current gifts of property such as stocks, bonds, or real estate. In some cases it can be an asset that appreciated in value. Such a gift can be given “in kind” to the CET and the donor will not be liable for the capital gains taxes on the sale of the asset. In addition, a donor is eligible to take a current year charitable tax deduction limited to a certain percentage of Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) based on the type of donated property. Generally, contributions that exceed any current year limitations can be carried forward and deducted in each of the following five tax years.

Other tangible gifts such as artwork, collectibles, antiques, coins, etc. are assets that can be gifted outright. Of course, adequate and documented valuation of these types of gifts is necessary and we can assist you in this process.

Memorial Gifts

Memorial Gifts are given in honor of the life and legacy of a loved one that had a heart for Upper Bucks Christian School. Memorial gifts are sometimes made to honor one ’s life by appropriate recognition of their birth, their passing, an anniversary or other such date of significance in their life. At times, families may request such gifts in lieu of flowers and the like at memorial services thereby seeking to memorialize the loss of a loved one with a gift that will create an enduring legacy.

Life Insurance

A gift of a life insurance policy can be a key component of charitable giving. The death benefit can significantly increase the funds received by the CET.  The policy itself can be gifted to the CET or the CET can be named as the beneficiary. Sometimes charitable planning strategies can employ the use life insurance to replace family assets that are donated to the CET.

Remember, charitable giving is primarily motivated by one’s desire to financially under gird a cause that is close to one’s heart. Income tax and estate tax benefits are built into our federal tax code to provide extra incentive for the support of charitable gifts. Tax laws are complex and subject to change and apply differently to each individual situation. At all times one should consult a qualified tax professional to assess applicable tax benefits.
